Welcome to Sydney George

Katie is the designer and founder behind Sydney George. Growing up in Gore, a small town at the bottom of New Zealand, means small town values and community come first, and that has shaped how this brand is run.

My background is in design and interior styling, but my real passion has always been for the different, the unique, the mysterious and the quietly confident. Fashion, art, architecture, interiors, opshopping, all things creative. “I just love it all.” Creatives are their own kind, and Sydney George has been curated from these passions, my third child.

Sydney George curates timeless, classic and luxurious bags and accessories brought into the modern age, drawing inspiration from the past, present and future. Our leather handbags and accessories are designed to be passed through generations and loved through their story.

We aspire for our pieces to be key statement accessories, for occasions and for everyday wear, on a global stage. We want our customers to feel their best while looking their best, something unique and extra special added to an outfit, a dimension added to your accessories for every event and everything in between. Sydney George is designed for the modern, confident and refined person who embodies sophistication.

We also carry a responsibility in our industry to be innovative with sustainability, with future generations in mind. Our designing happens in Central Otago, New Zealand, and we have partnered with a manufacturer who sources top quality leather and is committed to ethical and environmentally responsible standards within the industry, exceeding their duty of care to employees and to ethical practice more broadly.
